Who am I, Where do I come from?

          When being presented with the question, "Who are you?", coming up with an answer is not as easy as it may seem. Most often when asked this question I would reply with my name, but I am more than just a name. It is a good question to sit down and think about, whether you are a philosopher or maybe trying to understand your purpose in life. The answer could vary depending on things such as age and religious view.

          My simple and straightforward answer to who I am is that I am a follower of God. For me this defines my purpose in life and the way I will go about fulfilling that purpose. I love doing things for the good of others and giving the glory to Him. Some of my favorite hobbies include doing things that push me to my physical and mental limits, knowing that because of Him I have the strength to do those things. I also like to read, listen to music, and other stuff like that. 

          On the inside, I am someone with a heart for service. In my own heart and mind, who I am does not matter. I am on this Earth not for myself, but to bring glory to God through the service of others. Who I am is not relevant to me because my life is not what is important. I would happily lay it down if it meant saving the life of another. I suppose you could say I live for the moment that I get to die fighting as a Marine, and I can only pray that my death saves some innocent lives. I live by the US Air Force Pararescue motto, "These things we do that others may live." I guess you could say that is who I am.

          As for the question, "Where does the world come from", my answer for that will also be simple. I believe that God created the world, and everyone and everything in it. I do not think we are here by accident, we were put here for a reason. A "big bang" could not create a universe so vast and complex, no matter what any scientist says.
